RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) - Richmond Police are investigating the death of a man who was found dead on a picnic table Saturday night.
Officers were called to an alley between South 10th and 11th streets where they found 66-year-old Patrick W. Perkins slumped over a picnic table.
Perkins had a deep cut across his neck and was dead when they arrived, according to police.
Authorities reported Perkins had walked from an apartment in the 100 block of South 10th Street before reaching the bench.
Detectives found some evidence in the apartment where Perkins had been after obtaining a search warrant.
Officials are treating the investigation as a homicide, which would be the city's seventh this year.
