FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Police in Fort Wayne arrested a man after they say he drove three blocks with four children strapped on the hood of his car.
Police spokesman John Chambers says officers were called about 5:30 p.m. Monday after a witness reported seeing a man and woman strap the children to the car in a liquor store parking lot and then drive away.
Chambers says a U.S. marshal stopped the car.
Police say the children were ages 4, 5, 6 and 7. The Journal Gazette reports ( http://bit.ly/KJzW1 z ) the children weren't injured.
The man driving the car was arrested on a preliminary drunken driving. Police say he may face other charges.
The woman was questioned by police, who called the Department of Child Services.
Police didn't identify the man or woman.
