GARY, Ind. (AP) - Police say officers are searching for a driver who fired a gunshot at a woman driving on a northwestern Indiana highway in an apparent instance of road rage.
Indiana State Police report that a 22-year-old Orland Park, Ill., woman says she was driving in the far left lane of westbound Interstate 80/94 in Gary when dark colored pick-up drove up and tailgated her for about a mile Thursday night. The driver then went to the right and tried to force her car into the concrete median wall.
The woman says the man pulled alongside her car and waved a handgun, followed by a bang. Police found a bullet hole in her car's passenger door and the woman suffered a bruise from a shard of plastic hitting her hand.
