PRINCETON, Ind. (AP) - State police say a southwestern Indiana couple have been arrested on charges they tried to hire a hit man to kill the man's ex-wife.
Police say the couple was arrested after 31-year-old Jason Ray Gardner of Princeton met an undercover federal agent Sunday night at a Walmart parking lot. Police say Gardner paid the officer $900 and agreed to pay an additional $1,100 after his ex-wife is killed.
Gardner and his wife, 42-year-old Pamela Gardner, were being held without bond Monday in the Gibson County Jail on conspiracy to commit murder charges. A jail officer says they didn't immediately have an attorney.
Police say Jason Gardner gave the agent a description of his ex-wife along with her address and details of her vehicle.
