TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's trustees have named Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Robert Coons the school's interim president following the death of late President Matt Branam.
The school says its board of trustees met in a special session Monday to name Coons to the interim post three days after Branam suffered a medical emergency in his office and died later at a hospital.
Coons joined Rose-Hulman as controller in 1989 and has held various finance- and management-level positions since then.
Branam's funeral was Monday. A public celebration of life service will be held Saturday on the Terre Haute campus.
