BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (AP) - Indiana officials are closing part of a state highway in Greene County for at least a month so crews can build an interchange for the Interstate 69 extension project.
Indiana 45 will close to traffic on or after Aug. 27 from the junction of Indiana 445 to the junction with Indiana 54. State highway officials say Indiana 45 is expected to re-open to traffic by late September, weather permitting.
Road crews will use the closure to install a new connector and interchange for the Indianapolis-to-Evansville I-69 extension.
Local residents will have access to Indiana 45 to the closure point. Motorists using a detour along Indiana 445 and Indiana 54 are urged to use caution due to high traffic volumes.
