HENRYVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana church that was damaged in the March 2 tornadoes will host a picnic to honor volunteers as residents mark the six-month anniversary of the deadly storm.
March2Recovery is coordinating long-term rebuilding efforts. It plans to mark the anniversary Sunday with a moment of silence and a bell-ringing.
The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky., report s the events also will include a "Building Anew Picnic" at Henryville's St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The battered church served as a relief center in the days after the storm.
The Rev. Steve Schaftlein says the church wants to say "thank you" to all those who have helped in the recovery.
