INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Salvation Army just finished its Tree of Lights Campaign and is $180,000 shy of the $3.3 million goal.
Although the goal wasn’t met, Major John Turner, Indiana Divisional Commander said in a press release that he is happy with the results.
"We still have a lot to be thankful for," he said. “We raised nearly $1 million in Red Kettles and even though we finished short, this is still the third highest campaign total we've ever had. We could not have done that without the generous donors in this community."
The Salvation Army may either have to dip into its strategic reserve fund or re-budget/allocate less funds to certain areas. It will not cut back on programs.
Donations can be made at www.salvationarmy.org or by sending a check to The Salvation Army, 3100 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
