MEROM, Ind. (AP) - State police say detectives are reviewing items found during an extensive search around the rural western Indiana home where an 85-year-old retired farmer was fatally shot .
State police Sgt. Joe Watts says more than 100 state and Sullivan County police officers and local residents joined in a search Friday that covered nearly 2 square miles around the rural Merom house where Lowell Badger lived. Watts says about 20 items that were found have been turned over to detectives.
Police say Badger's son found him shot to death Dec. 8 at the home about 30 miles south of Terre Haute. Electronics and items were missing from the house.
Watts says a reward fund for information in the case has grown to $25,000.
