SPENCER, Ind. (WISH) - Conservation officers are investigating after a man at McCormick’s Creek State Park reported Monday night that he’d been shot.

The Owen County Sheriff’s Department received the 911 call at 10:05 p.m. Monday that a man had been shot in the back.

Peter Raventos, 44, was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital with 22 shotgun pellets under his skin. Raventos told authorities he was shot while walking on one of the park’s trails, but he didn’t know who shot him.

Indiana Conservation Officers, Indiana State Police and state park personnel searched McCormick’s Creek State Park for a possible suspect, but no suspect was found.

Conservation Office spokesman Bill Brown said Tuesday morning they were still early in their investigation but had found no evidence to prove or disprove where Raventos was actually at when he was shot.
