INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Six people have now died as a result of tainted steroids at Indiana clinics, the Indiana Department of Health said Wednesday.
The steroids have triggered a fungal meningitis outbreak across the country. Though the illness isn’t contagious, it can be serious and deadly.

Indiana has now has 56 cases of fungal meningitis. The most recent death was someone from outside of the state who was treated at an Indiana clinic.
The outbreak is tied to a pharmacy in Massachusetts that was making the pain-killing injection.
