State Fair investigation: Who's who

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - As officials release information on the investigations into the stage rigging collapse at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 13, several key people may be mentioned.

Following is a guide to key players connected to the Indiana State Fair, the night of the stage rigging collapse and the resulting investigation.

Ray Allison – Public safety coordinator for the fair on the night of the collapse.

Kristian Bush – Sugarland. Bush is the front man for country duo Sugarland, who was set to take the stage when the stage rigging collapsed at the State Fair on Aug. 13.

Charlie Fisher – Witt and Associates Vice President. Witt and Associates led the part of the investigation related to the decision-making processes on Aug. 13 leading up to the collapse at the State Fair. Fisher said his firm was focusing on the fair’s general state of preparedness, the timeline of events and decisions that night and the state’s response following the collapse.

Cindy Hoye – Indiana State Fair Executive Director. Her name took the spotlight when a document came forward that quoted her saying Sugarland wouldn’t delay their show on Aug. 13.

Andre Lacy – State Fair Commission Board Chairman. Lacy is often the face of the commission, leading board meetings and speaking to the media.

Eric Milby – Promoter who was working with Sugarland the night of the collapse.

Scott Nacheman – Thornton Tomasetti Vice President. Thornton Tomasetti led the part of the investigation that related to the structural elements of the collapse. The firm was looking at the stage’s design, structure and equipment hanging from the rigging.

Jennifer Nettles – Sugarland. Nettles is the front woman for country duo Sugarland, who was set to take the stage when the stage rigging collapsed at the State Fair on Aug. 13.

Paul Poteet – Local meteorologist. Poteet was hired to measure rainfall at the fair on the night of the collapse. As the storm moved closer, he said he told fair officials if they started the show, they would have to stop or end it early because of the impending weather.

Bob Richards – Emmis Communications. Richards is the man who made an announcement on the State Fair grandstand stage ahead of the collapse.
