State leaders look to address prescription drug abuse epidemic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Wednesday, state lawmakers, police officers, health leaders and others will come together to find ways to cut prescription drug abuse.

This is the third year for the symposium. This year's theme is "Targeting Strategies to Curb the Epidemic in Indiana." Topics to be discussed include addiction treatment, guidelines for prescribing controlled substances, medication disposal, "pill mill" physicians and drug monitoring programs.
