INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana's state parks are rolling out the red carpet with a series of special weekend events to lure people back to the state's public properties.

The Welcome Back Weekend events start Friday and run through Sunday at Indiana's parks and reservoirs. The more than two dozen events on tap around the state include a morel mushroom festival at Brown County State Park and goat-milking and leather-working demonstrations at northern Indiana's Salamonie Lake.

Ginger Murphy of the state's Division of State Parks and Reservoirs says the events are for "old friends and people who've never visited or haven't visited recently."

All normal fees will be in effect during the Welcome Back Weekend events. Gate fees for most properties are $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
