LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (WISH) - The man police said was involved in a six-hour standoff in Lawrenceburg, about 20 miles west of Cincinnati, is facing more charges.
William C. Hoffman Jr., 31, Lawrenceburg, is being preliminarily charged with attempted murder, attempted aggravated battery, attempted battery with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm. These are in addition to the initial charge of criminal recklessness.
The charges stem from an incident last Thursday night when Lawrenceburg Police were called to Hoffman’s residence in Lawrenceburg for a domestic disturbance. Police said he barricaded himself inside the house and fired on officers. The standoff ended around 3 a.m. Friday when police arrested Hoffman. He was treated for a minor gunshot wound and released from University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He is currently being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Hoffman is scheduled to appear in Dearborn Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Tuesday for his initial hearing.
