LEWIS, Ind. (WISH) - A teen died Sunday after he crashed his ATV in Sullivan County, police state.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Department received a call from a motorist, saying that an unoccupied ATV and an unresponsive person were in the roadway on County Road 1200 North.
Officers arrived and found the 17-year-old male from Lewis, Ind. lying near the road.
No other vehicles were reported to have been involved.
The victim was flown from the scene to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he was treated for severe head trauma.
Police say he later died from his injuries.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by Indiana Conservation Officers.
An autopsy is scheduled at the Marion County Coroner's Office for Tuesday.
