JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - One person died and another was injured when an SUV crashed and landed on its roof in Jefferson County Sunday.

Indiana State Police say the crash happened around 3:25 a.m. and left 19-year-old Tre’ Colber dead. Colber, of Madison, was driving a 2003 Suzuki SUV westbound on State Road 256 when the vehicle left the road and hit a traffic sign and utility pole.

A passenger in the SUV, 19-year-old Bailey Owens, of Hanover, was taken to Kings Daughters Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The accident was still under investigation.
