NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A teenage boy died in a single-vehicle crash on Wolf Lake Road between Baseline Road and CR 100 N Saturday evening.
The Noble County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene around 6:10 p.m. When emergency responders arrived, they found Kaleb Luce, 17, of Albion, had been thrown out of his Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Our sister station WANE reports Luce was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was the only person in the vehicle.
An investigation determined Luce had been going northeast on Wolf Lake Road when for some reason his vehicle went off the southeast side of the road. Luce overcorrected and went off the other side of the road, hitting an embankment. That caused his vehicle to roll over and Luce was thrown out.
It's not clear why Luce went off the road or if he was wearing a seat belt.
Assisting the Noble County Sheriff Department at the scene were Noble County EMS, Noble Township Fire Department, Albion Fire Department, and the Noble County Coroners Office
