Toddler found in field after tornado dies

HENRYVILLE, Ind. (CNN/WISH) - A toddler has died in a Louisville hospital after being found alone in a field in the aftermath of Friday's tornado.

A coroner in Louisville said Angel Babcock died Sunday afternoon of a traumatic brain injury. Her passing brings the death toll in Indiana to 13 people who have died as a result of the storms that moved through Friday.

Angel's mother, father and 2 siblings were all killed during the storm that hit Henryville.

21-year-old Joseph Babcock, 20-year-old Moriah Brough and two of their children, 2-year-old Jaydon and 2-month-old Kendall were all killed by the powerful storm.

Angel was the only survivor, before she succumbed to her injuries Sunday.

Joseph Babcock is being remembered by his best friend, Justin Henley.

Henley says the two grew up together in Kentucky.

Joseph had recently moved to Indiana while his friend moved to the Detroit, Michigan area.

Henley said that Joseph was like a brother to him.

“He loved everybody. He never talked bad about anybody. He’s just a good person and he loved his kids a lot,” said Henley.

Extended family members were at the hospital with the little girl.

Young said the family did not have any insurance, so a fund has been set up for them at Bank of America called The Babcock Family Fund. The money will be used to pay for funeral expenses.
