SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say no passengers on a South Shore commuter train suffered significant injuries when it struck an SUV at a northern Indiana crossing, killing the vehicle's driver.

The train with about 200 passengers on board was traveling from Chicago when it collided with the SUV just west of South Bend Sunday night. Police say the train was going about 70 mph when the crash happened, knocking the SUV several yards from the tracks and landing on its roof.

St. Joseph County police Sgt. William Redman says investigators had no signs of malfunctions with the crossing's warning lights or gates.

The identity of the driver who died wasn't immediately released.

WNDU-TV and WSBT-TV report the South Shore train continued to the South Bend airport's station about 90 minutes late.
