Two weak quakes hit southern Indiana

BICKNELL, Ind. (WISH) - Two weak earthquakes rattled southern Indiana on Thursday evening, one just after 6 p.m. EDT and another marginally stronger one almost an hour later.

Knox County officials received calls after the quakes, 24-Hour News 8 news partner WTHI-TV reports.

The first, a 2.7 magnitude quake according to the U.S. Geological Survey, was centered between Oaktown and Bruceville, north of Vincennes, Knox County EMA Director John Streeter said. No significant damage was reported.

The second, a 3.1 magnitude quake, was centered near Bicknell.
