SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - The Vatican's ambassador to the United States will be visiting Indiana to take part in a conference about religious liberty at the University of Notre Dame.
Organizers say Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano's trip will include preaching the homily during a Sunday morning Mass at South Bend's St. Matthew Cathedral and a public speech Sunday night at Notre Dame's McKenna Hall auditorium.
Vigano is an Italian whom Pope Benedict named as his representative to the U.S. last year.
Notre Dame says the conference involving Catholic bishops, theologians and human rights activists from countries such as Nigeria, Egypt, China and India will discuss the persecution of Christians around the world.
