Vincennes University student pronounced dead at hospital

VINCENNES, Ind. (WISH) - Police in Vincennes say preliminary findings of a medical examination indicate there was no foul play involved in the death of a Vincennes University student.

An autopsy was conducted Sunday afternoon.

Vincennes Police received a call about an unresponsive male at an off-campus apartment house on the 600 block of N. Second St. around 7 p.m. Saturday.

When Emergency Responders arrived at the scene they found Malcom Jamar Stalling, 22, unresponsive, and immediately transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Stalling was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities are considering this an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing as a final report by the medical examiner is pending.

VU officials say counseling services have been made available at the VU Counseling Services Office.
