Vintage fire equipment museum may leave New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - One of the world's top collections of vintage fire equipment could be moving from its New Albany home.
A fundraising campaign to buy a building to house the historic Fred Conway fire collection in its current location has fallen short, and officials say they may have to move it to nearby Jeffersonville.
Curt Peters of the Friends of the New Albany Fire Museum Board of Directors tells the News and Tribune that a property owner in Clark County has offered to house the New Albany Vintage Fire Museum and Education Center.
The museum features the collection of Discount Labels founder Fred Conway and includes equipment dating from 1756.
Conway died in 1999.
