This Father's Day, some dads may have received a tie or a cool high tech electronic gift.  But some dads got a special treat to the NCAA Hall of Champions Sunday.

The NCAA Hall of Champions is all about college sports. On this Father's Day, the NCAA Headquarters at White River State Park opened its doors to show some dads how much they are appreciated.

"We know that Father's love sports," said Monica Richardson with the NCAA Hall of Champions. "We have this incredible facility here and so we decided to pair Father's Day and our facility and throw in a great brunch."

The buffet included waffles and hand-carved roast beef. Some fathers even requested made-to-order omelets.

Mason Schafer surprised his father and grandfather with the brunch. He thought it would nice to just spend the day together.

Nick Winings says this is a day he will never forget," "It was a big surprise. I didn't know I was coming here," Nick Winings of Indianapolis said.

Winings is former college athlete, he played football at Butler University.

"I was fortunate enough to have my father raise me and I think just a male figure for your daughter or your son is very, very important," said Winings.

In fact he even brought his father to remember this special moment.

"Very special, especially when they come to you on this day and they show their love," Charles "Chuck" Winings said.

Sunday was the first-ever Father's Day Sports Brunch at the NCAA Hall of Champions.

After the Brunch, fathers got a special tour around the renovated Hall of Champions, including a look at the 23 state-of the art sport interactive displays.

The Hall of Champions re-opened in March after a fire caused extensive damage to the building in November of 2007.
