INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It's Thanksgiving Day and that means the annual Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving dinner.
It's a tradition that dates back to 1972 and this year the need is greater than ever. This year they're expecting serve between 35,000-40,000 meals, that's up almost 25% from last year.
Not only do volunteers deliver hot meals to about 40 locations throughout the city, but they give away 50,000 pounds of staple groceries.
To make the meals, it takes 15,000 pounds of turkey, 40,000 dinner rolls, and 2,000 pounds of green beans, 8,500 pounds of dressing, and 1,000 pounds of gravy.
