McCORDSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Two Mount Vernon Community School Corp. buses collided near McCordsville; injuries are reported to be minor, 10 to 15 people were taken to area hospitals.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon at Mount Comfort Road and Hancock County 600 North, near the Hancock-Hamilton county line.

More than 100 kids were on the buses at the time, and were taken off the buses after the accident. Emergency medical crews treated minor injuries on the scene, and several students were stabilized on the scene as a precaution for possible neck and back injuries.

24-Hour News 8 learned the driver of the second bus was said to have been watching an unruly child in the mirror and couldn't stop in time to avoid colliding with the bus ahead. The front of the second bus ran off the road and down a small embankment.
