WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Two people were injured overnight in an accident involving an Amish buggy in Wayne County.

Police there say the accident happened just before 3 a.m. Monday on State Road 1, just south of Interstate 70.

The preliminary investigation indicates a pickup truck pulling a boat trailer struck the horse-drawn buggy. The buggy’s driver and a passenger were injured and taken to Reid Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Wayne County deputies, the horse pulling the buggy survived the crash with only minor leg injuries.
