HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Two people are seriously injured after they were ejected from a vehicle that flipped three-to-four times on Interstate 70 east Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say Bartolo M. Ramirez was life lined to St. Vincent Hospital and his 20-month-old son was taken to Riley Children’s Hospital in stable but serious condition Tuesday evening.
According to Jason Williams, a deputy with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, the car was traveling east near the New Castle exit around 4:30 p.m. when a tire blew out causing the driver, Florinda Hernandez to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle overcorrected and flipped before it came to a stop on the highway.
Williams said Hernandez was in good condition and refused medical treatment. He said all victims were conscious when crews arrived on the scene.
Interstate 70 east at the New Castle exit, 123 mile marker, was closed for about 3 hours.
