RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A motorist stopped for driving 103 MPH was found to also have a license that had been suspended for life.
Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Yeend was working crash reduction on a rural section of State Road 244, west of State Road 3 in Rush County. State police say this section of highway is known to be treacherous, as it is narrow with numerous hills and no shoulders. The area is also known for Amish buggy traffic on the rural road.
Trooper Yeend said he clocked an oncoming Mustang at 103 miles per hour in the 50 MPH zone. After more than a couple of miles in pursuit, the trooper was able to catch and stop the driver.
Further investigation revealed the driver, 36 year-old Robert Dunham of Oldenburg, Indiana, was operating as a
Habitual Traffic Violator with his driving privileges suspended for life.
Durham was arrested and taken to the Rush County Jail. In addition to being charged with driving on a suspended license, Durham also faces charges of reckless driving and excessive speed.
