Boys' blisters lead to grandmother's charges

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Henry County grandmother faces felony battery charges after two boys showed up to Marion General Hospital with severe burns on their tongues.

According to court documents, Shirley J. Hagerman forced two young boys, 4 and 6 years old, to stick out their tongues as she held a heater screen to them.

The documents describe the boys’ injuries being so severe it caused blistering.

Hagerman faces charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class D felony.
