GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) - A wild police chase in Decatur County led to the arrest of a Cincinnati man Thursday afternoon.

Police arrested 38-year-old Jerry Cantine after a police pursuit, our partners at the Greensburg Daily News report. The suspect reportedly reached speeds of over 120 miles per hour.

Police received a call from an Ohio homeowner claiming a man had knocked on his door and asked for money to get back to Columbus, Ohio. He said the suspect was acting in a suspicious manner.

The homeowner gave the license plate number to the police, who later found the vehicle was reported stolen.

Cantine then fled the home northbound on SR 3. Police were forced to use stopping sticks to flatten the tires of the suspect vehicle.

Cantine was arrested and taken to the Decatur County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing law enforcement with a motor vehicle, criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle, and reckless driving.

Two school in the area were placed on lockdown for safety reasons.
