Investigators reiterate reward offer for tips in Shelby County Fairgrounds arson

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - As investigation continues into the arson that destroyed the Shelby County Fair grandstand, the state fire marshal’s office is reminding people it is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Investigators determined that the blaze that destroyed the historic structure in the early morning of May 19 was deliberately set . They are seeking the public’s help to provided a break in the case, saying that any information, now matter how insignificant it may seem, can help.

There are two ways to provided tips:

  • State fire marshal’s arson hotline: 1-800-382-4628; open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers may remain anonymous, and any information that leads to arrest may be eligible for the $5,000 reward.
  • Shelbyville Crime Stoppers hotline: 1-800-222-TIPS or 317-262-8477. Callers may remain anonymous, and information that leads to felony arrest may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
