ELIZABETHTOWN, Ind. (WISH) - Having already been robbed three times in one month, an Elizabethtown man took matters into his own hands during a fourth robbery attempt.

Andy Sauer was on his way home from volunteering when his neighbor noticed a suspicious car near his home, our partners at the Republic report.

When Sauer arrived home, he found a car in his driveway and an intruder in the back of his home. The intruder was carrying a trumpet and laptop.

"I told (the intruder) to put the stuff down and get on the ground," said Saurer, 59, who plays bass with the symphony. "And he did."

Sauer's nephew and a neighbor arrived minutes later. The suspect in the car then attempted to confront the three.

However, Sauer told the suspect to get back in the car, and he did.
