SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Police say a robbery suspect fled from police after trying to break into a car dealership.

Our partners at the Shelbyville News say police were flagged down by a man who said someone tried to break into the Acra Automotive Group in the 1200 block of East SR 44.

Police later located the vehicle on the highway and tries to stop the suspect. The suspect led police on a foot chase and K9 units were used to track the suspect.

However, the suspect was never found.

Authorities believe the person hot into a different vehicle and fled the scene.

"We are able to confirm that Acra was the victim of a burglary," Turner said in the release. "The suspect may have stolen items from other car lots in town."

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Shelbyville Police Department at 317-392-5108.
