Police chase ends near Shelbyville Middle School

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The Shelbyville Police arrested a man after a car chase that ended near Shelbyville Middle School.

Our partners at the Shelbyville News report Shawn M. Leming caused a vehicle accident, fled the scene, and then drove irratically down SR 44 through the city.

Police caught up with Leming near Shelbyville Middle School and arrested him on charged of leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing, habitual traffic offenses, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

No one was seriously injured in this accident. Students leaving nearby schools were delayed as a precaution while police took Leming into custody.
