SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Shelbyville Police Department officers responded to an accident Wednesday involving an injury at Sunset Park.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 2002 Chevrolet 2500 with extensive damage, according to a release.
It was later determined after some investigation that the juveniles driving the truck had consumed an alcoholic beverage.
The juvenile who was driving the car lost control in Sunset Park and appeared to have struck a large tree.
One juvenile was air lifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital for serious injuries.
In addition to consuming alcohol, it appears the juveniles did not have permission to use the vehicle at the time of the crash, Shelbyville Police Department says. The vehicle was later reported stolen and a theft report was filed.
