RUSHVILLE, Ind. (AP) - An Indianapolis-based health system says it will place a new air ambulance in Rushville to serve east central Indiana.

St. Vincent Health announced it will open the new StatFlight air medical base at Rush Memorial Hospital in late spring. It says the Bell 407 helicopter will be equipped with night vision goggles and other safety features. The expansion is expected to create 13 jobs in Rushville.

St. Vincent StatFlight currently operates four air ambulances based in Anderson, Danville, North Vernon and West Lafayette.
