SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The Shelbyville fire department had their fire engine “pinked out” this month to show support for breast cancer awareness.

With the approval of Fire Chief Tony Logan, the Shelbyville Firefighters Local 2008 union members and the company 3 Alarm Graphics coated the engine with pink vinyl. In addition, the firefighters have decided to wear pink duty shirts throughout October, which they paid for themselves.

The goal of the firefighters is to raise money for the Cancer Association of Shelby County.

Shirts will be available for purchase at the department’s fire safety open house on October 13. The event runs from 10a.m. until 1p.m. at fire headquarters, located at 40 W Broadway.
