SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The City of Shelbyville is once again taking applications for their annual sidewalk replacement.
The city says based on the applications, they will make a list of sidewalks they will fix in the summer.
"Any residential property owners who have extremely bad areas in their sidewalks are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this program and get on the list immediately so they can be worked into this year's program," Street Commissioner Jennifer Jones said.
Our partners at the Shelbyville News say residents who need sidewalk repairs should call the Street Department at (317) 392-5169. Officials say sidewalks with tripping hazards and major cracks take precedent.
Additionally, Jones said the list already has seven people from the previous year whose sidewalks the department couldn't complete.
If you make the list, officials say you need to buy the supplies to replace the sidewalk and the Street Department will then provide the labor for free.
