Carmel council: No backing into parking spaces

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - Carmel City Council members passed a strange parking proposal at Monday night's meeting.

There will be no more backing into parking spaces in Carmel's city-owned parking garages.

The reason is so people won't get stuck waiting for a car to back into a space and be late for an event.

There are currently three garages in the city with another two planned.

Under the ban, signs will be posted at the garages.

They will also be restriped to make it more difficult for you to back into the spaces.
