NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Two teens injured in a crash early Thursday morning were found leaving the scene of the accident, police said.

Hamilton County Sheriff’’s Department deputies were called to the crash, which happened just before 4:45 a.m. on River Road just south of 116th Street, with an additional report of two people walking away from the scene.

Within three minutes of the call, a police officer spotted two 15-year-old boys in the 1500 block of River Road. One of the teens was found to have a head injury, the other a shoulder injury. A medic was sent to the scene, but further information on their condition was unavailable as of about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Meanwhile, two other officers en route to the scene crashed into each other.

Noblesville Police Department officer Collin Whitesell was northbound on A Street in Noblesville, with his lights and sirens activated, when he proceeded through the intersection with Ind. 32, also called Conner Street in that area. A Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department deputy was also entering the same intersection with lights and sirens activated. The light was red for Whitesell, green for the deputy, Whitesell’s patrol car clipped the deputy’s car as Whitesell was turning onto Ind. 32.

Noblesville Police Department Lt. Bruce Barnes said damage to both patrol cars was minor and neither officer was injured.
