HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says an ambulance carrying a patient was involved in a serious accident Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m.  Saturday morning in the 24000 block of SR 37. Officers say the ambulance was traveling south on SR 37 just north of Florida Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The ambulance slid off the road, into a ravine, and hit a tree.

Three people, a driver, medic, and the dialysis patient, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. However, the crash was considered serious since there was a patient on board the ambulance.

SR 37 was closed for two hours while crews responded to the scene.

Officials tell 24-Hour-News 8 the ambulance was dispatched out of Eaton, Ind.
