FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - A man is behind bars after leading police in a chase that began in Hamilton County and ended on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Early Wednesday morning, Fishers police responded to a report of someone siphoning fuel from the Kittle's furniture delivery trucks parked at their distribution center on East 96 th Street near I-69.
Fishers Police spotted a van matching the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to get the driver to pull over to the side of the interstate.
Police say the driver lead them on a chase going south on I-69 and then onto east I-465.
Officers managed to get the van stopped on the exit ramp to East 56 th Street but the driver refused commands to exit the vehicle.
Fishers Police say they had to resort to breaking the driver’s window. The driver was pulled from the van and placed under arrest.
The unidentified male was taken back to the Hamilton County Jail where he faces numerous charges.
Investigators say they found a sophisticated system of siphoning the fuel and distributing it to several barrels in the back of the van.
