CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - Officers with the Carmel Police Department responded to the area of Main Street and Towne Road Saturday morning to the report of a vehicle into a pond.

When police arrived they found a gray vehicle submerged in the pond. Firemen could not locate anyone inside of the car and requested their Dive Team to conduct a further search of the pond.

No one else was located and the vehicle was pulled from the water.

Investigators determined the driver of the car lost control at a roundabout and crashed into the pond.

Officers were able to locate the driver, identified as 19-year-old Andrew D. Song. He was taken to Riverview Hospital to be checked out. He was then taken to the Hamilton County Jail for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

The passenger suffered only a minor scrape to his left palm.
