Family reacts to Carmel apology letter

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - The parents of one of the alleged victims in the Carmel High School assault case spoke out on Tuesday, reacting to a letter written to their son.

The letter was an apology from the fourth and final defendant who struck a deal with prosecutors and admitted to a misdemeanor battery charge on Monday.

The letter was written by former Carmel High School basketball player Robert Kitzinger, who wrote it as part of a plea deal.

“What my son had hoped for is we would be in court while the apology was going on, that they would be able to shake hands,” the father of the alleged victim said Tuesday.
