FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - The quick action of boaters on Geist Reservoir aided a crash victim Thursday afternoon.
A person was hurt when two personal watercraft collided at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Fishers Fire Department said, and was immediately assited by two nearby fishermen, Keith Gibbs, an off-duty Greenfield firefighter/EMT, and Wayne Mocas. The two pulled the crash victim onto their boat and met a waiting ambulance at the Olio Road marina, FFD said.
The injured person, who was wearing a life jacket at the time of the crash, was then taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Northeast Hospital's ER. His ID and condition were not available Thursday evening.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is conducting an investigation into the crash, Fishers Fire Department said.
