Fishers hit with another power outage

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - For a second time in as many days Fishers residents faced a power outage on a very cold morning.

According to Duke Energy, which supplies power to the area, a conductor wire slipped out of its sleeve  around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday..

The incident cut power to some 1,650 customers in the area of 116th Street and Allisonville Road.

Traffic signals at that intersection were also out and police officers were brought in to direct traffic.

Duke Energy crews were able to track down the problem and make repairs around two hours later.

The power was back on by 4:55 a.m.

A spokesman for Duke Energy tells 24-Hour News 8 this was a different problem from Monday's outage that was blamed on a bad underground cable.

Monday's outage affected more than 2,000 customers who were without power for three hours.
