Fishers school evacuated for smoke in building

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - Riverside Intermediate School was evacuated Tuesday morning after smoke filled the building.
Marianna Richards, Hamilton Southeastern spokeswoman, said about 1,000 students attend the school.
A motor and belt on an air handler caused the cafeteria to fill with smoke. Students were outside shortly before being allowed back in around 9:45 a.m. Classes were resuming as normal.
The fire department was staying at the school to air out the cafeteria. Richards said the school still planned to be able to serve lunch.
