CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) - A new Carmel development could have been given a boost Tuesday night. But developers hit a road block when they revised their plan, and that gives neighbors another chance to object.

Tuesday night, members of Carmel's City Council said they'd need more specifics before they can approve the new plan for the Gramercy development at 126th Street and Keystone Avenue.

Developers scaled back the plan for the land where the Mohawk HIlls apartment complex is now. They no longer plan to demolish the apartments.

"What I like about the plan is that it is a much more attractive community that has a much more long-term appeal, I believe," council member Sue Finkam said.

The discussion will require at least one more committee meeting before it can go to the full council. Then, Gramercy will get a public hearing at a regular council meeting.

You can review the plan yourself here .
